Architecture & interiors · Plate I
We draw with the light we’re given.
Ruang Atelier is a small studio. Every project starts as a white model on an oak board, studied from first light to last before a single wall is drawn.
The same model, photographed through one day: low morning sun from the east, short shadows at noon, long amber light in the evening, and the glass pavilion lit like a lantern at dusk.
Plate II · Shadow study
One day on the board.
Scroll to move the sun. We keep a building only if every room gets its hour.
-
07:05 · Reading Tower
First light runs up the ribs of the tower. The reading rooms face east, so the day starts on the desks.
-
10:40 · Market Podium
The sun clears the tower and lands on the timber roof. The market hall below stays cool behind its fins.
-
14:10 · The long lawn
Short shadows. The planted strip and the pool get their sun at lunch, when people are actually outside.
-
18:40 · Garden Pavilion
Last sun goes amber, the model goes blue, and the glass pavilion lights up. We place it where the evening ends.
Plate III · Index of works
Five buildings, one board.
Everything we have built started on the same oak board. Open a line to read the brief and the hour that decided it.

A tower of reading rooms, each one a single floor wide, so every desk has a window. The ribs on the south face shade the afternoon and leave the morning in.

A single glass room at the end of the lawn, open until late. It sits where the last sun leaves the site, so at dusk it becomes the light.
